Osborne PLAIN GROMMET Hand Setting
DIES Each set consists of
two parts, the punch and the die. Note that the spur and the plain dies are Not interchangeable,
you must have the specified die for each type and Grommet
Size. Never strike a cutter or die with a metal
hammer. Always use a Rubber or Composite mallet for hole
punching or setting grommets or fasteners. A steel hammer
strike such a severe blow that the metal in the dies absorb the
entire shock and begin to crystallize. This crystallization
begins to weaken the dies, which will become brittle and fail
prematurely.

SPUR-GROMMET Hand Setting DIES Each set consists of
two parts, the punch and the die. Grommet setting tools for
the Osborne Spur grommets. These require special dies as
setting teeth on the spur washer uses a slightly different size
and die face from the plain and must ensure the spur teeth fit
into the rolled rim for maximum strength. Note that the spur
and the plain dies are not interchangeable, you must have the
specified die for each type. Never strike a cutter or die with a
metal hammer. Always use a Rubber or Composite mallet for
hole-punching or setting grommets or fasteners. A steel hammer

maximum life of your cutters and die setting equipment, always use
a rubber mallet and not a steel hammer to set fasteners, grommets
or to hole punch. Use this pad under the material you are
punching. The special surface absorbs the impact and allows
the cutter to cut the material, not the bench underneath. Cutters
